Our history

Gilbert, Deschênes et Associés—now GDA Québec—is a real estate consulting company incorporated in 2013 whose founding members enjoy solid experience and an enviable reputation in the province’s market. Having worked for a national consulting firm, the founding shareholders came together to incorporate a human-scale company that is close to its clients and its market. The shareholders—Steve Gilbert, Louis Deschênes, and Frédérick Bélanger—have advanced expertise in different fields of practice, particularly in terms of appraisal, municipal taxation, and expropriation. The complementarity of the strengths within the team combined with a network of seasoned collaborators allows the firm to offer comprehensive, high-quality professional services.

In 2017, GDA Québec continued its expansion by acquiring the Servitech Services-Conseils firm of chartered appraisers. With nearly 50 years of experience in appraisal for the purposes of acquisition, expropriation, and contingency funds, Servitech Services-Conseils has been able to complement GDA Québec’s professional service offering.

In 2018, partnering with experienced chartered appraisers (Jean-François Gilbert and Benoit Bélanger) allowed GDA Québec’s expertise to expand across the province, particularly with players in the Montreal real estate community. GDA Montréal was thus founded.

It is also worth mentioning the accreditation of one of their appraisers with the Appraisal Institute of Canada and the acquisition of the Simon Messier equipment appraisal company in 2021, which added another important service to its offering.

The current GDA Québec team therefore has many years of expertise and extensive knowledge in real estate consulting services. If GDA Québec is now respected in the market, it is thanks to its team: experienced professionals who are proud of the work accomplished and in whom their clients continually place their trust for a prosperous future.

Our clients are primarily made up of public and parapublic agencies on different levels (cities and municipalities, federal and provincial governments, RCMs, various corporations, CLSCs, shelters, school boards, etc.) and private organizations (real estate developers, banking institutions, law and accounting firms, insurance companies, real estate agents, property owners and tenants, collection agencies, etc.) that refer to our expertise for their daily real estate needs.
